Just because you are in need of assistance, doesn’t mean that you have to settle for less; below are a list of questions you might want to ask a potential lawyer before deciding to let them work on your case:

1.  What is your area of specialty in the law?

2.  Do you even think I have a case?

3.  Why do you work pro bono?

And in my opinion, the last question may be the most important because you wan’t to make sure that even though the advice is free, it should still be coming from a person who’s heart is in the right place.

You’ve probably heard about how the world is filled with more than its share of Lawyers.  While there may be a ton of lawyers, not many can claim to be a computer technology lawyer.  Many lawyers specialize in taxes, defense and prosecution of crimes, and even employment.  It has only been since the rapid rise of the internet age that the need for the computer technology lawyer has come into play. 

If you are a person who has ever, or plans to, invent any software, chances are you could use a good computer technology lawyer.  If something happens and let’s say someone has tried to steal your patented software, who would you want representing you?  I bet you’d select a computer technology lawyer over one that doesn’t specialize. 

When software or hardware has been invented and needs to be patented, this is another reason why a lawyer who specializes in computer technology would come in handy.  The bottom line is that a good computer technology lawyer can be invaluable to a person or business looking to protect their creations. 

If you need to find a qualified lawyer in computer technology, ask around and see if you can get a referral.  If you cannot then going to the internet is also a good choice – just be careful and remember to thoroughly check the person out before deciding on who to select as represenation.
