Finding A Pro Bono Lawyer

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you needed some legal advice and couldn’t afford to pay for any?  If this is, or ever was the case, then you probably know about a pro bono lawyer.  Getting pro bono advice doesn’t mean that you are getting less than quality legal advice, it just means that for some reason a ‘real’ lawyer has decided to work for free.

A pro bono lawyer can be doing the work for a non-profit organisation or as a way to give back themselves.  If you are in a situation where you need pro bono legal advice, there are places that can help you.  While there may not be a wealth of resources, it is still possible to find a pro bono lawyer to fit your particular needs.

Just because you are in need of assistance, doesn’t mean that you have to settle for less; below are a list of questions you might want to ask a potential lawyer before deciding to let them work on your case:

1.  What is your area of specialty in the law?

2.  Do you even think I have a case?

3.  Why do you work pro bono?

And in my opinion, the last question may be the most important because you wan’t to make sure that even though the advice is free, it should still be coming from a person who’s heart is in the right place.
